About Rhodolite Garnet: A rose-colored gemstone named after the pink rhododendron flower that is native to North Carolina, where it was first discovered. The name Rhodolite comes from the Greek word ”rhodon” which means rose.

Its color may vary from pink to purplish-violet red and, like all garnets, it is celebrated for its perfect gemstone properties of brilliance, hardness (7-7.5 on the Mohs scale) and color. The stone’s clarity and color are what makes this gem one of the most valuable varieties of garnet.
